CHHS Receives $160,000 in Scholarship Funding

CHHS today learned the Lettie Pate White Foundation will provide the college a generous grant which will directly benefit students in the nursing and allied health professions.

The foundation, which provides funding for female students with demonstrated financial need, pledged $160,000 to CHHS this academic year. The organization has contributed more than $1 million dollars to the college to date.

UNC Charlotte is one of 200 institutions to participate annually in the scholarship program, which focuses its charitable efforts on nine southeastern states.

More than 10,000 students receive scholarships each year from the Lettie Pate White Foundation. UNC Charlotte will be free to determine how to distribute the money to eligible students.

In addition to funding the scholarship program, the foundation also awards annual grants to elderly care facilities, including nursing homes and hospices.
