When are the Applications due?

  • Applications are due on Reading Day every semester. Please view the Academic Calendar to find out when Reading Day is. You will receive an email when the application is available.

Where do I go to apply to the program?

  • You can find the application on the APHCS Pre-Exercise Science website. If you have any questions about the application, please email Mrs. Juliana Marino for assistance.

When will the admission decision be released?

  • Admission decisions are typically released via email 24-48 business hours after the application deadline.

What is a Parallel Schedule, and what should I register for?

  • A parallel schedule is a temporary placeholder until you are officially admitted to the upper-division exercise science program. Some course(s) from your parallel schedule will remain on your finalized schedule to reach full-time status.
  • Your parallel schedule can consist of the following:
    • Missing General Education course(s)
    • Second major./minor course(s)
    • Professional graduate school prerequisite(s) – i.e. Med School, PT, OT, MSAT, etc.
    • Electives
  • We encourage that your parallel schedule is at least 12 credits or more.

When can I register for my upper-division EXER course(s)?

  • Once admitted to the program, your acceptance letter will list the class(es) you will register for.

If not admitted, what should I do?

  • We advise that you speak with your assigned CHHS Advisor about parallel plans. You can schedule an appointment with your advisor via EAB Connect.

When are the Applications due?

  • For Spring admission, the application is due on August 31st. The application will open on June 15th.
  • For Fall admission, the application is due on January 31st. The application will open on November 15th.

Where do I go to apply to the program?

  • You can find the application on the SON Upper Division Nursing Major website. If you have any questions about the application, please email Dr. Susan Lynch for assistance.

When will the admission decision be released?

  • Admission decisions are typically released 6-8 weeks after the application deadline. It varies depending on the application review process and number of applications received.

What should I register for when I am applying to the program?

  • Once admitted to the Nursing program, you will be advised on what classes to take during the Nursing Orientation. The orientation date will be provided in your acceptance letter.
    • You will have a guaranteed seat in the courses needed to take in your first semester (J1).

If not admitted to the nursing program, can I reapply?

  • Yes! We strongly encourage all students to reapply if not admitted during the first try. We also encourage students to speak with their CHHS Advisor about boosting their competitiveness and parallel plans. You can schedule an appointment with your advisor via EAB Connect.

When should I have my North Carolina CNA I completed?

  • Applicants must be on the state board registry by the time they start the upper-division BSN program.

Where can I complete my North Carolina CNA I?

  • Applicants can find a CNA Training program in their local area. Please view the approved CNA training programs on the NCDHHS website.

I am currently listed on another state’s Nurse Aide I (CNA) Registry. May I transfer my listing to North Carolina?

  • North Carolina is a reciprocity state per 10A NCAC 130 .0301. The Reciprocity Application must be submitted for DHSR approval to be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry. Out-of-state private-duty nursing employment does not qualify for reciprocity. Individuals must be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry before working as a Nurse Aide in North Carolina.

Information regarding Volunteer Hours:

  • 50 or more volunteer hours (paid or unpaid) must be completed before the application deadline to receive extra consideration.
  • Volunteer hours should be completed in a human-based healthcare environment or a community agency that serves persons in need such as homeless shelters, food banks, soup kitchens, Meals on Wheels, and the American Red Cross.
  • Applicants must complete the Volunteer Verification form and upload it to their application. If you completed volunteer hours at multiple locations, you must complete a verification form for each location.

When is the Application due?

  • The BSPH program admits once a year for Fall admission. The application is due on January 31st. You will receive an email when the application is available.

Where do I go to apply to the program?

When will the admission decision be released?

  • Admission decisions are typically released before registration week in the Spring semester.

What should I register for in the Fall semester?

  • Your acceptance letter will provide a list of classes required for the BSPH program. Additionally, the letter will tell you a date when registration permits will be entered to allow you to register for the classes.

What if I do not have 60 credits completed by the time of the application deadline?

  • The BSPH program encourages students to have at least 60 credit hours completed before the start of the program (Fall semester). However, it is preferred that 60 credits be completed by the end of the spring semester.

If not admitted, what should I do?

  • We advise that you speak with your assigned CHHS Advisor about parallel plans. You can schedule an appointment with your advisor via EAB Connect.

When is the Application due?

  • The BSW program admits once a year for Fall admission. You can apply between February 1st through July 15th.

When will the admission decision be released?

  • The BSW program admits students on a rolling basis while the application is live (Feb.1 – July 15). Students can expect an admission decision 2-3 weeks after they have submitted their application.
